Sharon Ann Gall passed away peacefully while in hospice care. With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to a devoted wife, loving mother, and loyal friend. Family, friends, and faith were the foundation on which she lived her life.
Everyone knew her by Sherry. She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Rufus King High School. She married Dick Gall in her early twenties, and they had two children. In 2024, Sherry and Dick celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Theirs was quite a love story! Bonded for life, they were always together. Their two sons, Rick and Terry, will forever treasure their parents' enduring love, kindness, and support. Sadly, Dick died last Spring. Sherry carried on as long as she could without him.
For many years, Sherry was a homemaker taking care of the boys and her husband. In 1977, the family left Milwaukee and headed to Hartland, a quiet town outside the city. This would be home for 24 years. For a good while, working with a friend, Sherry cleaned houses. Then, a back injury changed her life, leading to more than three decades of health challenges. Her resilience and determination would prove to be extraordinary. Dick's constant care, the love they shared, support from family, and the Lord's healing touch no doubt sustained her. After Dick retired, the two moved in 2001 to a wooded area in the Town of Sherwood, where the Gall family had once owned a farm. Here they would stay.
Sherry enjoyed boating, traveling, cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers, and playing slot machines. She was an avid reader and could tear through a mystery novel in no time. She liked movies, and the Hallmark Channel became her favorite. She valued friendships and maintained some of them for a lifetime. She also cherished her Catholic faith and would frequently pray the Rosary.
Sherry is survived by her sons Terry of Menomonie and Rick (Pam) of Phoenix, AZ; brother Stuart (Pam) Schroeder of Pewaukee, WI; brother Scott Schroeder (Jen) of Waukesha, WI; and sister-in-law Valerie Schroeder of Westfield, WI. Sharon is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Sherry was preceded in death by her husband Dick; parents LeRoy and Nina Schroeder; sister Sibyl and her husband Jeff Frakes; and brother Spencer Schroeder.
