Mason Douglas Barth, born on November 9, 1998, in Marshfield, WI, the son of Mark Barth and Candace Weinzinger, passed away far too soon, on Sunday morning, May 3, 2026, after a tragic fall while climbing a tower in Menomonie, Wisconsin. His loss leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who loved him.
Mason grew up in Neillsville, Wisconsin, where he attended grade school and high school. He was a gifted athlete-an avid track star who also enjoyed playing football and spent a memorable year on the JV basketball team. After high school, Mason attended UW-Stout, where he studied criminal justice and competed in the 400 hurdles. He made the Dean's List his first year and excelled on the track, achieving the goals he set for himself with determination and pride.
Around that time, Mason met his best friend, Trevor Mollman, who shared his love of adventure. Mason began cliff jumping, the passion that would shape the rest of his life. What started with cliffs soon grew into skydiving and eventually BASE jumping. Through this community, he found not only adventure but a second family-friends in Menomonie whom he loved deeply-and another home in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he formed a remarkable brother-like bond with Jonathan Cox. Together, they became a team dedicated to creating entertaining BASE-jumping videos. Mason traveled across the United States and around the world in pursuit of the most breathtaking jumps, earning admiration, respect, and a lasting legacy within the BASE-jumping community.
Mason was born with a free spirit and an unquenchable need for adventure. Yet beneath that boldness was a profoundly kind heart. He was thoughtful, gentle, and endlessly generous with his time and friendship. Recently, he found joy in converting a school bus into a home on wheels-a project that reflected both his creativity and his love of the open road.
Mason began working in construction with his uncle, Randy Barth, spending many summers learning the trade. At the time of his passing, he was employed with Quality Roofing in Menomonie, where he was known as a strong, hardworking, and well-liked member of the team.
He is survived by his mother, Candace Weinzinger, and stepfather, John Weinzinger; his father, Mark Barth, and Mark's partner, Dawn Hainz; his sisters, Wendy (Bryce) Backaus and Kelly Marie Barth; and his extended sister group-Jamie Hainz, Candie (Shawn) Stolarzyk, and Miranda Mijal and her partner, Levi Duda. He is also lovingly remembered by his extended Weinzinger family: Jessi (Chelsea) Weinzinger, Ashley (Ryan) Zoromski, and Amy (John) Burris. Mason was adored by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will forever cherish his memory-especially Daxtyn, Elizah, Aurora, Brynleigh, and Cooper, whom he loved with his whole heart. He is further survived by his Godparents, Pat and Mark Begotka.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lawrence Schumacher; paternal grandfather, Robert Barth Sr.; paternal grandmother, Mae Revak; and paternal grandfather, Carl Revak; his uncle, John Michalski; aunt, Kathy Barth; and cousin, Douglas Barth.
Mason lived boldly, loved deeply, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will continue to soar in the hearts of those who loved him most. And in true Mason fashion, we honor him with the words he lived by: "SEND IT."
