Marian Johnson

Marian Johnson, age 91, of Black River Falls, WI, formerly of Neillsville, WI, died Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Country Terrace Assisted Living Facility in Black River Falls, WI.

Marian Johnson was born on March 21, 1932, the daughter of Lawrence and Arlene (Jorstad) Johnson. She lived with her family on the family farm in Greenwood, where she enjoyed the cattle, chickens, pigs, lots of cats. She also had her two dogs, Pat and Pal, which she loved very much. Marian lived most of her adult life in Neillsville, but most recently was living in Black River Falls.

She enjoyed coloring, puzzles and decorating - especially for Christmas.

She is survived by a sister, Betty Smith of Vesper, WI, a niece, Sue Ann Haas of Vesper, WI and her children, Tami Haas of Vesper, WI and Jodi (Ryan) Duffek of Arizona, a niece, Jeanette (the late Gary) Shirek of Vesper, WI, and her children, Tori (Jeremiah) Peterson of Vesper, WI, Brittany (Anthony) Vollert of Arpin, WI, and the late Ethan Smith. Marian is also survived by an aunt, Dorothy Weber of Seattle, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Carl Smith Jr.

Funeral services for Marian will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Gesche Funeral home in Neillsville, WI. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, WI. Visitation will be 10:00 to 12:00 pm Saturday at the Gesche Funeral Home.
