Lois Irene (nee Fleischmann) Galetka, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI.

Lois was born on December 19, 1932, to Wilhelm and Carrie (Gill) Fleischmann in Eagle, WI. She attended school in Mukwonago, Lake Beulah and East Troy. Later, she moved to Madison and began working at Woolworths. She then returned to Mukwonago and worked at a restaurant, where she met her future husband, Charles Galetka. They were married on April 29, 1950, in Waterford, WI, and had 72 years of marriage, and were blessed with seven children.

Lois and Charles moved to Illinois, where they worked at Regal China making lamps. After moving back to Milwaukee, Lois worked for a time at McClellan's Dime Store. She was a homemaker and farmer's wife while they farmed in Glen Flora, WI. In March of 1960, they moved to Neillsville. After moving to Neillsville, Lois helped serve lunches at the high school and later worked at the Dairy Bar. During the Christmas season, she worked at Figis in Marshfield.

After selling their farm to their son, Joe, Lois and Charles sold Christmas trees in Colorado each winter. This gave them an opportunity to visit and spend time with their son, Chuck, who lived there. During the summer months, they enjoyed setting up at flea markets. Upon retiring, they wintered in Florida and later spent their winters in Apache Junction, AZ.

Lois was a member of the Pine Valley Homemakers and the PCCW at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. She enjoyed country western music, playing cards, reading, attending flea markets, watching the Packers and Brewers, and playing bingo, where many times she was asked to be the caller. Lois also enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson and Nashville, as well as the many trips she and Charles took through Lamers Tour and Travel.

She is survived by her children, Nancy (Brian) Schell, Charles Galetka Jr., Joseph Galetka, Margie Harper and Richard Galetka. Lois is also survived by her son-in-law, Steve Daniels; sisters-in-law, Helen Fleischmann, Janet Galetka, Charlotte Fleischmann and Ann Fleischmann; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Galetka Sr., her parents, Wilhelm and Carrie Fleischmann; two sisters, Gladys Swan and Esther, who died shortly after birth; eight brothers, Wilhelm, Robert, Emil, Ervin, Edwin, Clifford, Gary, and James, who died shortly after birth; daughters, Terri Ann Galetka and Susan Daniels; four grandsons, Frederick Maurice Daniels, Jeffery Alan Galetka, and twins, Charles and Keith Galetka; son-in-law, James Harper; and daughter-in-law, Victoria Galetka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2026, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant will be Fr. Greg Michaud. Music will be provided by Rebekah Lehn, organist and St. Mary's Choir. Interment will be next to her husband in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the church.
