Leo Wiesner Jr., age 85, of Neillsville, WI died Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his residence east of Neillsville.

 

Leo Leroy Wiesner was born, at home in the Town of Seif, on April 3, 1935, the son of Leo and Neva (Robb) Wiesner. He attended Wild Rose Grade School in the Town of Seif, and then worked on the family farm. On May 9, 1959 Leo was united in marriage to Florence Wetzel at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Leo was self-employed for 30 years as a mechanic and semi-truck driver. During this time, however, he was a member of the United States Army – National Guard for 9 years, he was employed at the Nelson Muffler Factory for 12 years, the Neillsville Police Department for 10 years and for 39 years he was a member of the Clark County Sherriff’s Department, retiring in 2018.

 

When he was not working, Leo enjoyed fishing. He and Florence went fishing every Sunday for 15 years even during the winter. He also enjoyed cutting wood, hunting and mechanic work.

 

He is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Florence, five children, Tammy (Gary) Primeau of Neillsville, WI, Annette (Pete) Edwardson of Plover, WI, Carol (Donald) Mashin of Neillsville, WI, John Wiesner of Neillsville, WI and Donald “Bugsie” (Shana Berry) Wiesner of Neillsville, WI, seven grandchildren, Rollin Mashin, Caleb Wiesner, Sierra Handke and Aaron Wiesner all of Neillsville, WI, Morgan Edwardson of Plover, WI, Graham Edwardson of Orlando, FL and Jen (Adam) Stanton of Marshfield, WI, two great grandchildren, Azaylee Janicki and Taevyn Stanton of Marshfield, WI and a brother, Mike Wiesner of Neillsville, WI.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Neva Wiesner, siblings, Dale, Jerry and Marjorie Wiesner, and two grandchildren, Brenda Lee Primeau and Steven Raine.

 

A Memorial Service for Leo will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, WI. Pastor Terry Marg will officiate. Interment will be in the Town of Seif Cemetery with military honors performed by the Neillsville Veteran’s Council. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Gesche Funeral Home.

 

Pallbearers will be Caleb Wiesner, Rollin Mashin, Adam Stanton, Rex Roehl, Rodney Roehl and James Wetzel.
