Jonah Lee Johnson

Jonah Johnson, age 5, of Neillsville, WI died Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Neillsville.

Jonah Lee Johnson was born on May 8, 2016, in Marshfield, WI, the son of Juston and Brittany (Waltemate) Johnson.

Jonah was currently in Mrs. Scheider’s Kindergarten class at the Neillsville Elementary School. He loved being outdoors and playing in the park, and he enjoyed watching the Marshmallow Guy on YouTube and playing the Fortnite video game.

He is survived by his parents, Juston and Brittany Johnson of Neillsville, WI, two brothers, Job and Jordan Johnson both of Neillsville, WI, his grandparents, Roger and Renee Waltemate of Neillsville, WI, and Maryann Dougherty of Black River Falls, WI, great grandmother, Joan Waltemate of Neillsville, WI, uncles, Zachary (Desi) Waltemate of Neillsville, WI, Jacob (Ashley Magnuson) Waltemate of Neillsville, WI, Ryan (LeAnna) Waltemate of Lindsey, WI, and Jerome Johnson of Black River Falls, WI, aunts, Elizabeth (Harry) Dougherty and Dawn Johnson both of Merrillan, WI along with several great aunts and great uncles.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Earl Waltemate, Billy Dougherty and Wesley and Donna Buttke and great aunts, Rochelle Waltemate and Vickie Peterson.

Funeral Services for Jonah will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, WI. Pastor Steven Wentz will officiate. Interment will be in the Town of Grant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home.

Pall bearers are: Zachary Waltemate, Jacob Waltemate, Jordan Johnson and Job Johnson.
