John was born in Fulta, Germany on June 20, 1944 to John Sr. and Augustina (Kirsh) Iwaszczenko. He immigrated with family to Chicago in 1950. From there, they moved to Neillsville, WI and resided on their family farm. John graduated from Neillsville High School in 1962. He met his wife in November of 1964 and later wed on April 24, 1965 at St. John's Lutheran Church.

John was a proud American and sought to live out the "American Dream" by courageously and fearlessly pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities in Central Wisconsin. He pursued careers in farming, construction, car sales, property management and bar ownership. John loved going to car auctions, watching the History channel, drinking beer, planting trees for family to harvest, shopping at Menards and spending time with friends and family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He doted on his grandkids, especially all the little girls who became "princesses" in his presence.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Patricia (Meier), children, Irene (Mike) Stack of Stratford, Dawn (Mike) Klimek of Stratford, Jenni (Damon) Iwaszczenko of Stratford, John (ex-wife Carmen) Iwaszczenko III of Marshfield, grandchildren / great grandchildren, Bobbie Jo (Jordan) Bunge and daughters, Sophia and Zoey, Amanda (Matt) Moore, Jake Carl, Sierra (Josh) Van Rixel, Kloey Paschel, John Charles Iwaszczenko, Juliette (aka Evan) Iwaszczenko.

He is further survived by his brother, Vladimir and sister, Olga, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother, Victor, sisters, Lucy and Helen, nephews, Donald and James.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing and compassionate staff at House of the Dove in Marshfield.
