Jerome (Jerry) Jordan passed away on November 11, 2020 peaceful at his home. He was born in Rockford, IL to Bernice Nitke and was raised by his grandparents Walter and Milidore Riedel in the Township of Lynn. As a young man his served his country in the United States Navy. He met the love of his life, Bonnie (Kuehn) of Granton, when he was 17 and she was 14. The couple married and had 3 daughters: Theresa (Kim) Stargardt of Neillsville, Carol (Dwight) Dueholm of Granton, and Teri (Matt) Langowski of Neillsville. Their family also included 14 grandchildren and 2.99 great-grandchildren.
Jerry never met wheels that he didn’t want to turn, a microphone that he didn’t want to sing in, a CB that he didn’t want to key up, a piece of wood that he didn’t see something that he could create, or a campfire that he didn’t want to sit around.
In his career he was a crane truck operator for DWD Pulp, Automated Product, and Roehl Transport. He worked as a semi-truck driver for Dave Haas, Leer Trucking, Roehl Transport, and Gardner Trucking. He also worked as a maintenance person for Weinbrenner Shoe Co, a milk truck driver, and a driver for Short's Fur Farm. By the time he retired he was known as “Steering Wheel” and driven more than 4 million miles.
He was proceeded in death by his mother and maternal great grandparents.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and always remembered in their hearts.
Jerry will be carried by his pallbearers: Dwight Dueholm, Jasper Kunhart, Jordan Martin, Matt Langowski, Ricky Bartsch, and Roger Swiech. He will be laid to rest in the Township of Lynn Cemetery with Military Honors on November 16, 2020. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, WI.
