Janet Harrington

Janet Harrington, age 90, of Neillsville, WI, died Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation Facility, where she has resided the past few years.

Janet Carol Seelow was born on February 25, 1935, in Neillsville, WI, the daughter of William and Sara (Pedder) Seelow. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1953.

On October 7,1955 she became united in marriage to Richard Arlyn Harrington in Neillsville, WI. After their marriage they moved to Milwaukee, WI, where Janet worked at Line Material until 1958. She stopped working to dedicate herself to raising her family. After her children had grown, she went to work at Victory Elementary School in Milwaukee as a Teacher's Aide. Janet and Richard both retired in 1995 and moved to Neillsville.

Janet was a member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville. She was a PTA member and a member of the Neillsville American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Cub Scout leader. She helped cook and volunteered at the Neillsville American Legion. During her spare time, she enjoyed baking. Janet and Richard enjoyed fishing at Bear Lake with family and friends.

She is survived by a son, Mark (Kathleen) Harrington of Cudahy, WI, a daughter-in-law, Mary Harrington of Franklin, WI, six grandchildren, Elliott (Hannah) Harrington, Adam Harrington, Ashley (Amir Rasouli) Harrington, Erika (Jay) Salinas, Andrew (Nora) Harrington and Benjamin Harrington, nine great grandchildren, Tala, Lucy and Aran Rasouli, Landon and Oryn Harrington, Colden and Delilah Harrington, Fiona Harrington and Jude Salinas. She is also survived by a sister, Beverly Snyder of Woodstock, GA, and a brother, William (Karen) Seelow of Tucson, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, a son, Steve, her parents; William and Sarah Seelow; sisters Lilah (Ken) Burr, Marshfield WI, June (Leon) Schnabel, Neillsville WI, Cleone (Larry) Zink, Cudahy WI, Donna Marie Seelow Neillsville, WI, and Berdella (Herman) Carl, Neillsville; brothers; Kenneth (Eleanor) Seelow, Milwaukee WI, Russell (Donna) Seelow, Neillsville WI, and Frederick "Fritz" (Ardis) Seelow, Neillsville WI; a brother-in-law, Terry Schneider Woodstock, GA, and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

Visitation on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., at United Church of Christ in Neillsville, WI. Funeral Service will Follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Valley Cemetery.

Special Thanks to the staff at Augusta Center for Health and rehabilitation for their dedication and compassionate care, and to St. Croix Hospice staff that ensured a peaceful transition for Janet and support to the family in her final days.
