James Edward Harper

James E. Harper   James E. Harper, 67, of Spencer, WI, died on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at The House of the Dove in Marshfield, WI.   James Edward Harper was born on April 26, 1950 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was raised in Rison, Arkansas by two very loving parents James and Velie (Williams) Harper.  After graduating from high school he went on to school for teaching.  After teaching for a few years his true love of playing the guitar and singing took him down a different path pursuing his dream of music.  Jim played music at many Clubs and numerous friends and relatives parties.  Everyone always had a great time.  Jim was united in marriage to Margie Galetka on October 29, 2003 in Neillsville, WI.  He drove school bus for the Marshfield School District.  He served as president of the Marshfield Senior Center and loved all sports, including golf, All Star Wrestling and the Green Bay Packers.    He was loved by all who knew him including his wife; Margie of Spencer, two sons; Floyd Harper and Troy Harper, mother and father-in-law; Charles and Lois Galetka of Neillsville and many many friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents.   A Memorial Service will be held for Jim at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.  Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday morning prior to the service at the Gesche Funeral Home.    Online Condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.  The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Jim’s family with funeral arrangements.
