Gloria Jean Hainz

May 16, 1939 — April 5, 2026

Gloria Jean (Northup) Hainz, age 86, of Neillsville, WI, died Sunday April 5, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Gloria was born on May 16, 1939, the daughter of Elmer Northup and Olga Krause.

Gloria grew up in Neillsville, WI where she worked at the Horsewell Café during her teenage years. This is where she met the love of her life Ronald Henry Hainz. On August 16, 1958, Ron and Gloria were united in marriage, one that would stand the test of time. Before Ron's passing they celebrated 59 glorious years of marriage.

Throughout the years they lived in Alma Center, where they owned The Brookside Bar. Later they moved to Union Grove to be closer to Gloria's brother. Finally, they settled in Neillsville on the Hainz family farm milking cows and driving semi for DeBoer Trucking. Together, Gloria and Ron put on more than 1 million miles.

More than anything, Gloria loved her family. Raising her five children was one of the greatest joys of her life. (Sherri, Ron, Howie, Dean and Steve.) After that chapter had come to a close and her children were grown, she took great pride in being active in the lives of her grandchildren. She took great pride in her grandchildren, saving every newspaper clipping where their names were mentioned. Gloria was always finding things to celebrate with the family. Whether it was a birthday party, a holiday gathering or just having a cookout to celebrate a lovely day, she was always looking for a reason to get the family together.

Some of her favorite activities to do with family and friends were playing pool, playing cards, camping, being on the pontoon, having cookouts, watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR.

She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and going to flee markets in her free time.

Gloria is survived by her brother Ronnie (Kathleen) Northup, her four children, daughter Sherri Hainz, sons Ronnie (Sandra) Hainz, Howie Hainz (Terri) and Dean Hainz (Carrie), her grandchildren Jason (Amy) Hainz, Josh (Amber) Hainz, Justin Hainz, Jordan Gee, Steve (Allison) Stewart, Rhiannon Stewart, Kari (Chris) Granza, Keith Hainz (Brogin), Jen Struensee, Bryan Jenson, Jamie Hainz, Candie (Shawn) Stolarzyk, Kaelee Meehan, Raven Lisiecki, 15 Great Grand Children, and 6 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 on the way.

Gloria was proceeded in death by her parents Elmer and Olga Northup, husband Ronald Hainz, son Steve Hainz, and her brother Gary Northup.
