Evelyn Eleanor Henchen

Evelyn Eleanor Henchen, age 93, of Neillsville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026. Born on April 30, 1933, in City Point, WI she was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother.

Evelyn married the love of her life, Robert C. Henchen, on June 9, 1955. Together, they created a warm home, welcoming their daughter, Rita, and later a beloved granddaughter, Bobbi Jo Delo. Evelyn's heart was a true sanctuary for her family, as she poured her love into her home, caring for all with kindness and compassion.

A woman of many passions, Evelyn found joy in crafting and in her garden, where she cultivated beautiful flowers and tasty vegetables. She loved canning the produce she grew, sharing her delicious creations with family and friends. Her affinity for cats added another layer of warmth to her home, embodying her gentle spirit.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Rita Sternitzky and a nephew, Roger (Sheila) Sweich of Granton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her granddaughter, Bobbi Jo; her brother, Bernard Sweich; and a niece, Mary Sweich.

A private family burial will take place at the City Point Catholic Cemetery, where Evelyn will be laid to rest surrounded by the beauty of the land she cherished. Her family invites all who knew and loved Evelyn to hold her memory close.
