God reached down and Mom took his hand on September 17, 2025.
Charlotte was born in Greenwood, WI on December 20, 1938 to Darrell & Clara Jean (Francis) Buettner. The family later moved to Hackensack, MN where Charlotte graduated from high school.
Charlotte married Herman Hediger, Jr. and they moved to Christie, WI. They had eight children together, later divorcing. Charlotte was also married to Andrew Schneider and David Tetzlaff.
Charlotte was influential in helping shape numerous other people's lives from having the go-to house for all kids, keeping an open door for whoever wanted to stop in and always having the coffee hot.
Charlotte was active in the family companies Hediger Dairy & Christie Milk Transport and many organizations some of which were a 4-H leader for over 50 years, starting the CVTC truck driving school with Herman, Secretary/Treasurer for the WI Independent Truckers Association (ITA), teaching Sunday School, helping with the "Make Their Hearts Smile" Make-A-Wish truck convoy for 27 years, and President of the Clark County Historical Society.
She is survived by her eight children, Lucretia (JC) Crawford, Ernst Hediger, "Punk" Loleta (Bill) Montgomery, Erika Kurasz, Clara Hediger, Heidi Hediger, Crispin (Lisa) Hediger, Lydia (Ron) Schumacher. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mildred "Mille", husbands Herman Hediger, Jr. and David Tetzlaff, a great-grandson Porter Michael Gage Montgomery, a grandson-in-law Eric Lowry, a son-in-law Richard "Shot" Campbell, as well as many aunts, uncles and other relatives.
The family wishes to extend their sincere and deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Riverside Assisted Living Home as well as St. Croix Hospice for their loving care of our mom.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2025 at the United Church of Christ from 1-4 PM with a private burial at the Marie Louise Chapel at a later date.
