Berdella Carl

July 11, 1926 — September 1, 2023

Berdella Ruth Carl, age 97, of Neillsville Wisconsin, left her earthly residence to be reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Herman (Butch) Arthur Carl, on September 1, 2023.

She is the daughter of William and Sarah (Pedder) Seelow. Born July 11,1926 in the town of York. Attended grade school at Happy Hollow, and entered the Neillsville public school system, graduating High School in 1942. She united in marriage on November 2, 1946. A marriage that lasted 66 years. She was employed at Schultz Brothers for six years and Nelson Filter for twenty-eight years. During her time of employment with Nelson Filter, she also partnered with her husband and owned and operated a local bar appropriately called "Butch and Berdella's ". She retired when she was 62, beginning a yearly trip to Phoenix Arizona, during the winter months, to spend time with her older son, Eugene. After a few years of living with their son, they moved to Sunrise Vista Mobile Home Park in Mesa Arizona, to be united with many of their old friends from Neillsville, WI. When they returned to Neillsville for the summer months, her first stop was to pick up groceries at Bob and Caryl's IGA. She was greeted by Bob and welcomed back and asked if she could help part-time in the Deli as they were shorthanded. Thus began a seventeen-year commitment.

Her conviction to faith, family and friends were her guidance in life. A member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville Wisconsin. She served as a Deacon for many years, a member of the Circle of Friends. Her association with the church community gave her the needed inspiration for her service to God. She grew up in a family of ten siblings, giving her a true understanding of love and loyalty. Her marriage gave her three sons. Her love for her sons was her greatest joy. She gave unconditional love to her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She always had time for anyone, anywhere, and anytime. From her weekly card games and Friday fish fries to her love of Polka music, it was always about connecting with friends. To talk about what happened yesterday to what was going to happen tomorrow. Each person that she met she gave her full attention, after their conversation they left knowing that her concern was genuine and her love bountiful.

She is survived by her three sons, Eugene (Linda) Carl of Phoenix Arizona, Roger Carl of Neillsville, Wisconsin, Wendell (Sherry) Carl of Neillsville, Wisconsin, seven grandchildren, Breanna (Merrill) Kelly of Scottsdale, AZ., Brittany (Chris) Rush of Scottsdale AZ., Branden (Heather) Bodendorfer of Spencer WI., Bradley Acker of Medford, WI but currently stationed in Misawa, Japan, Cristy Urban of Neillsville, WI., Nikki (Jayson) Hartman of Boca Raton, FL, Andrew (Yonoris) Carl of Jacksonville, FL, seven great grandchildren, Hadley Kelly of Scottsdale, AZ., Caden Rush and Remi Rush Scottsdale, AZ., Arianah and Bentley Bodendorfer of Spencer WI., Jacob and Stella Hartman of Boca Raton, FL. She is also survived by two sisters, Janet (Richard) Harrington of Augusta, WI and Beverly (Terry) Snyder of Woodstock, GA, and one brother, William (Karen) Seelow of Vail, AZ.

She was preceded by her husband, Herman Arthur Carl, her parents; William and Sarah Seelow, sisters; Lila Burr, Marshfield WI, June Schnabel, Neillsville WI, Cleone Zink, Wild Rose WI, Donna Marie Seelow Neillsville, WI, brothers; Kenneth Seelow, Milwaukee WI, Russell Seelow, Neillsville WI, Frederick Seelow, Neillsville WI and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
