Shirley Anna Magnuson

Shirley Magnuson, age 89, of Neillsville, WI died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI.Shirley Anna Magnuson was born on February 22, 1923 in Grant Township, Clark County, Wisconsin the daughter of Alfred and Ella (Cook) Magnuson. Upon graduating from high school she left to go to Minneapolis, Minnesota to work for one year loading ammunition for the war. After that she settled in at the Munsingwear factory in Minneapolis for 36 years until retiring in 1981. She then moved back and lived on the home farm until moving to town in 1994 and living at the Country View Apartments. She entered the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center in 2010.She loved her Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Also liked to read, watch old movies, sewing and knitting and bowling. Her family would like to thank the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center staff for taking good care of her during her stay.She is survived by a nephew, Greg and Sharon Magnuson of Neillsville, WI, a niece, Debra and Al Zahn of Marshfield, WI, one grand nephew, five grand nieces, two great grand nephews and five great grand nieces.She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ella Magnuson, one brother, Earl Magnuson, a niece, Lori Magnuson Leggate and a sister-in-law, Geri Magnuson.A Graveside Service for Shirley will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Town of Grant Cemetery.
