Cara Jean Washburn, age 70, of Mission, TX, formerly of Neillsville, WI passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Doctors Hospital At Renaissance in Edinburg, TX.Cara Jean Washburn, (nee Jones) was born on April 20, 1942 in Neillsville, WI to Frank and Jean Chesmore (nee Campman) and they later divorced and her mother later married Carleton Jones who then adopted Cara. Cara graduated from Neillsville High School in 1960. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI. She owned and operated several antique stores and was a housewife and wonderful mother. She was joined in marriage to Lowell Gress on December 16, 1967 in Neillsville WI, and they divorced. She married Richard Washburn on October 20, 1990 and they later divorced.Cara loved to travel in her younger years with her Grandpa Bill Campman. She has traveled to Spain, Norway, Sweden and Hawaii. She loved reading, going to flea markets, antiquing and spending time with her four cats.Cara is survived by her son Scott (Sharon) Gress of Marshfield, WI and her special friend for several years Ed Marks of Mission, TX.Cara is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and one son Donald Gress. She will be sadly and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of MICU at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, TX for all their help and support.Cara's family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.
