Pearl E. Wasserburger, age 98, of Neillsville, WI, died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.Pearl Eunice Wasserburger was born on February 26, 1914 in Westfield, WI the daughter of Ferdinand and Adeline "Lena" (Meyers) Wiesjahn. Pearl attended schools in Westfield and the LeClair school of Cosmetology in Milwaukee, WI. She was employed in Greenwood, WI and Waterloo, Iowa as a Beautician. On July 31, 1934 she married Leo Wasserburger in Montello, WI. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1981. After her marriage, Pearl was a full time homemaker and mother. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the PCCW and St. Agnes Circle. She was also active in "Women of the Moose Lodge". In 1963 she joined the Red Cross Volunteers and Memorial Nursing home where she was active for 40 years. She also worked many years on the election board for the first ward of Neillsville. Pearl was an excellent cook, especially her apple and raspberry pie and blueberry torte. She loved flowers and always had beautiful flowers surrounding her house. In later years her granddaughter, Lori, came every spring to help her plant flowers.We, the family, take comfort in knowing that she lived a long, meaningful life, and was blessed with many friends and happy times.Pearl is survived by two children, Joann (Duane) Bush of Mosinee, WI and James (Ana) Wasserburger of Neillsville, WI, 11 Grandchildren, Lori (Kent) VanMeter of Muskego, WI, Michael (Gayle) Bush of Milwaukee, WI, Patrick Bush of Wausau, WI, Jeffrey (Susan) Bush of Muskego, WI, Traci (Brian) Petit of Wausau, WI, Jodi Schiller of Stratford, WI, Lisa (John) Vann of Almond, WI, James (Kelly) Wasserburger of Sussex, WI, Sandra Brokish of Mosinee, WI, William (Jill) Neville of Neillsville, WI and Joseph (Linda) Neville of Neillsville, WI, 30 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 sister, Edna Polinske and 2 brothers, Milferd and Eldon Wiesjahn.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, WI. Rev. Varkey V. Joseph will officiate. Music will be provided by Ronald Resong, organist and St. Mary's Choir. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Monday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
