Delores Van Dyk, age 78, of Chili, WI died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, WI.Delores Ann De Berg was born on February 21, 1935 at home in Little Rock, Iowa the daughter of Tom and Grace (Kruse) De Berg. She attended Little Rock High School and played basketball and played in the band. While going to high school she worked in a caf, babysat and cleaned house. She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1953. On August 12, 1954 she was united in marriage to John Van Dyk at the First Reform Church in Melvin, IA by the Reverend John Smith. They farmed in Worthington, MN, Rushmore, MN, May City, IA and in 1964 they moved to Chili, WI to farm. In 1964, Delores began working at the Norwood Health Center in Marshfield, WI. She retired in 1989 due to health problems.Delores was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Chili, WI. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bingo, camping, video games, roller skating, when her and John were younger, fishing, traveling and playing cards. Her and John were part of twenty couples that got together to play sheepshead. She is survived by five grandchildren, Dawn Mason of Eau Claire, WI, Becky Knutson of Eau Claire, WI, Tanya Hale of Neillsville, WI, Crystal Rakestraw of Chili, WI and Allen-John Jackson of Boyd, WI, a sister, Margaret Calsbeek of Sibley, IA and a sister-in-law, Betty De Berg of Rock Rapids, IA.She was preceded in death by her husband, John, a daughter, Diane Rakestaw, a son, Jim Van Dyk, two great grandchildren, Jason and Desiree, three sisters, Grace, Joann, Gertrude, a brother, Donald and her parents.Funeral Services for Delores will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Chili, WI. Pastor Sally Rendell will officiate. Music will be provided by Connie Koopman, pianist. Interment will be in the Immanuel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
