Anthony "Tony" Russell Phipps

Tony Phipps, age 47, of Granton, WI died Monday, July 10, 2017 in an vehicular accident east of Granton.Anthony Russell Phipps was born on December 13, 1969 in Neillsville, WI the son of Tommy Phispps and Wendy Anderson. He graduated from Loyal High School in 1988 and then attended Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids for auto-body repair. After finishing school, he worked on auto-bodies for a while, a then went into logging and running a sawmill with his father. Later, he worked for Mark Schmitz for about 8 years at Country Builders making kitchen cabinets. Then, for 9 years, he worked at the John Bauer Pallet Co. During that time, in 1997, Tony formed his own company, ONeill Creek Sawmill and Pallet Works, which he was currently operating.In his little spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with anything that had a motor.He is survived by his significant other of 18 years, Enya Patterson, his father, Tom (Robin Schmitt) Phipps of Granton, WI, his mother, Wendy (Larry) Markow of Janesville, WI, a brother, Jason (Jennifer) Phipps of San Diego, CA, 3 aunts, Letha, Chris and Amy, 1 uncle, Frankie and many cousins.He was preceded in death by 4 aunts, Margie, Nancy, Colleen and Lola.A Memorial Service for Tony will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.
